From a modern trading town to a skipper's idyll

We walk from the tourist office along the coast through Svendborg’s beautiful beachfront neighborhood, across the Svendborgsund Bridge to Vindeby, and on to Skansen, where the view of Svendborg is breathtaking.

A visit to the old fishing village of Troense

The tour continues via Øret, through Bregninge Forest to the old seafaring village of Troense. Along the way, we’ll enjoy lunch by the water before sailing back on the M/S Helge. The tour can be extended to Valdemar’s Castle.

Saltwater, the Sea Hero, and the Shipowner

Since ancient times, Svendborg Sound has been an important center for trade, shipping, and shipbuilding.

Along the way, we’ll see plenty of examples of the maritime industry’s significant impact on South Funen—even from a modern perspective. Svendborg remains a key player in the maritime world. Over the years, several notable figures have contributed to the region’s maritime strength. During the tour, we’ll hear about the naval hero Niels Juel and the Maersk family.
